Philip Kojo Metz completed his education at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich from 1998 to 2005, graduating as a master student under Olaf Metzel in 2021. He received various scholarships and awards, including stays in Cape Town and Paris, as well as the Valence Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture in Stuttgart. He also received working grants from the Arts Fund Bonn and the Arts Foundation of Baden-Württemberg. A stay in Brazil deepened his engagement with Afro-American culture, supported by a scholarship from the DAAD. Since 2013, he has been collaborating with the KWADRAT Gallery in Berlin and has been a board member of the German Artists‘ Association since 2021. His works have been exhibited nationally and internationally.
